Jennifer Chau, Executive Director of the Arizona Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander Advocates.
AAPI Victory Alliance Executive Director Varun Nikore issued the following statement:
“AAPI Victory Alliance is proud to welcome three new board members to our team. Our board is comprised of AAPI leaders who are dedicated to growing the political power of AAPIs across the nation by advocating for the issues our communities care about most. Adding these three board members who have committed their time and effort to uplifting our communities, displays their commitment towards the mission of our organization. We can’t wait to work with Sung Yeon Choimorrow, Previn Warren, and Jennifer Chau in engaging the AAPI electorate in the midterms and beyond.”
AAPI Victory Alliance Chair Tung Nguyen issued the following statement:
“We are beyond excited to work with our new board members to engage the AAPI electorate. With a little over 100 days until the November election, we are committed to AAPI voter engagement because we believe our communities can be the margin of victory in some of the most close-fought elections. We’ve long needed to reflect on the rapid growth of the AAPI electorate, and onboarding three AAPI changemakers to our board will only continue to help us put AAPI issues and engagement at the forefront of this critical election.”
AAPI Victory Alliance Vice Chair Luisa Blue issued the following statement:
“Sung Yeon Choimorrow, Previn Warren, and Jennifer Chau are experts within their respective fields and bring new perspectives to our work here at the AAPI Victory Alliance. Leaders in the fields of gender equity, law, and activism, we are thrilled to have their bright minds at the decision-making table. Our communities have been invisibilized for far too long, and it’s time that issues that benefit the AAPI community are front and center in our political arena. I look forward to the many ways these three new board members will help us fulfill these goals further.”
Sung Yeon Choimorrow issued the following statement:
“It is incredibly exciting to be joining this group of enthusiastic and fervent leaders in building local and national AAPI political power, particularly among women and girls. Bringing my experience in AAPI gender equity, I hope to change the narratives around the AAPI community to ensure that civil liberty and women’s rights prevail at a time when both are on the ballot this November. As we heal from tragic events targeting our community, the need for AAPIs to be shaping the national agenda has never been more urgent.”
Previn Warren issued the following statement:
“I am proud to be working alongside such a passionate group of leaders dedicated to uplifting AAPI communities. My background in litigation and political advocacy lends itself to the organization’s goals of advocating for economic equity and civil rights. ”
Jennifer Chau issued the following statement:
“I hope to bring my decade-long experience empowering the AAPI community, and our youth leaders, to hone and expand their political power at all levels of government. AAPIs are the fastest-growing electorate—and young voters are the future of this base. I am looking forward to working with this team of extraordinary AAPI leaders who work to center our community and highlight the pressing issues that the next generation face.”
