RELEASE: AAPI Victory Alliance Announces Launch of 501(c)(4) Partnership with Florida Donor Table

FLORIDA — Today, AAPI Victory Alliance announced the launch of a 501(c)(4) partnership with the Florida Donor Table. This launch is part of an ongoing commitment to invest in the building blocks of AAPI political infrastructure in Florida—one critical step in a nationwide effort to support and coordinate AAPI 501(c)(4) organizations around the country.

In 2019, AAPI Victory Alliance helped form AZ AANHPI for Equity, the first-ever Arizona-based AAPI 501(c)(4). In 2020, AAPI voter participation surged in battleground states and, in Arizona specifically, AAPI turnout—which increased by a whopping 26,000 votes from ‘16 to ‘20—ended up being the margin of victory of President Biden, who won Arizona by less than 10,000 votes.

AAPI Victory Alliance Executive Director Varun Nikore issued the following statement:

“Building off of our momentum in Arizona, AAPI Victory Alliance is excited to announce the launch of a 501(c)(4) partnership with the support from the Florida Donor Table. This partnership is critical to the continued activation and mobilization of AAPI voters in important swing states—and we plan to establish kindred relationships throughout the country in the future.”

“Right now, there is a desert of AAPI political infrastructure in states experiencing rapid growth in the AAPI electorate. Given the record-breaking AAPI turnout in 2020, it’s vital that organizations like Florida Donor Table are supported and established now. Last year, the AAPI electorate demonstrated nationally that they were a force to be reckoned with. Ahead of Florida’s 2022 midterms, our partnership with Florida Donor Table will provide AAPI voters the pivotal infrastructure needed to shape future elections.”

Florida Alliance Executive Director Ray Paultre issued the following statement:

“Our partnership with AAPI Victory Alliance is a groundbreaking moment for AAPI voters in Florida. And if we want the same level of engagement in Florida as we saw in other states in 2020, we need the resources and infrastructure to support AAPI voters year-round.”

“AAPI voters can be the margin of victory in future Florida elections and we’ve long-needed to reflect the rapid growth of the AAPI electorate in the way we organize, activate and turnout voters. This 501(c)(4) will establish the critical political infrastructure and engagement for future elections. We’re thrilled the Victory Alliance will be in Florida and we’re thrilled to be able to help them build here.”

Florida’s Former Chief Financial Officer Alex Sink issued the following statement:

“As a proud member of the AAPI community and as Florida’s former CFO, this partnership is a critical step into ensuring all voices are heard, supported, and uplifted through building political infrastructure. Florida is a key swing state and for too long, AAPI voters have been overlooked and underestimated but, as 2020 demonstrated, AAPI voters have the power to determine national elections. It is pivotal that AAPI voters in Florida have the resources and structure they need to mobilize to get out the vote.”
