AAPI Progressive Action is collecting names for the President's Advisory Commission on AAPIs.
In the past, the Commission has worked hand in hand with the White House Initiative on AAPIs to improve the quality of life for AAPIs by engaging with our communities to better understand our needs and what the federal government can do to meet them.
The White House Initiative on AAPIs and the President’s Advisory Commission on AAPIs are an important part of our community’s representation in and advocacy with the federal government.
AAPI Progressive Action is particularly interested in the Commission appointments because our organization was started and supported by former Commissioners from the Obama administration.
Service as a commissioner brings the responsibility of being a vocal advocate for AAPI communities and issues. We are looking for AAPIs who will take that responsibility seriously and who have specific skills to work on key issues such as business, education, environment, health, immigration and civil rights, labor, media, gun violence preventions, reproductive rights and other priorities for AAPIs.
The new Commission under the Biden-Harris administration has yet to be formed, and AAPI Progressive Action hopes to put forward a list of qualified individuals for their consideration.
